Date and time

Tue, 5 May 2015 11:00 - 15:00 GMT+1

Location

Cardiff University

41 Park Pl Cardiff CF10 United Kingdom

Description

This event is an introduction to DataCite for organisations and institutions in the UK. We will explain what DataCite is, what it does and how you can work with us in the UK to assign DataCite DOIs to your research data, making it more easily citable and discoverable.

The workshop is in two halves.

From 11am - 12 noon the session is aimed at Cardiff University researchers (please register with your unviersity email) who are creating data or are reusing data as part of their work. We will cover data citation and how you can get credit for the research data that you produce.

The afternoon workshop (1pm - 3pm) is aimed at those from the central university services of WHELF members, with roles that are responsible for research data management at the institution - but those from outside WHELF are welcome!

If you are university staff and would like to attend both morning and afternoon sessions, please register for each individually.

The workshop will be led by the British Library, who provide DataCite services in the UK, and hosted by Cardiff University.
